下面这两句话中的介词“in”都是表“原因”吗?替换为“for”后是否有语法错误?

为啥这两句话中“in”的用法和专门用来表原因的“as,for”等这么像呢?

1. 首先,这两个介词in并不是表原因的。

sth. be forgotten in…的意思是“对某事的记忆被淹没在…中”,可视为固定搭配,且介词只能用in. 句子Both were forgotten in her sudden discovery that her front door was open.直译为“对二者的记忆被淹没在她的前门敞开着这一猛然发现之中”,也就是“在她猛然发现自己的前门敞开着时,她对两件事忘得一干二净”。

第二个in的用法相信题主是清楚的:在ask/need help in sth./doing sth.及help sb. in sth./doing sth.这类表述中,介词只能用in而不能用其它的。

2. 既然在上述两个场合都只能用介词in,自然就不能被别的介词替换,替换为for后当然就有语法错误喽。

但并没有“ask help in sth”的用法啊?您是不是想说“ask for one's help in sth”?
另外,感觉在这个短语中其实问的是“help”的固定搭配,和“ask”没有关系,但“help”只有在作动词时才有短语“help to do/in doing”,怎么到提问中的例句中就变成了名词短语“help in sth”了呢?

对,我在最后说ask/need help in sth./doing sth.不严密,应该是ask for (one's) help in sth./doing sth.,或need (one's) help in sth./doing sth.抱歉!
有关help in sth.的问题,最简单的一个例子:We need his help in the matter(在这件事情上我们需要他的帮助)
