American English arrived in the continent of America in the year of 1607.There are 120 colonists crossing the Atlantic Ocean and coming to America in May Flower. It was the first time for them to establish a settlement of the Great Britain. In 1620, the first group of Puritans arrived in Massachusetts and it was the first colony of theirs. At the time the Britain was controlled under the first Elizabeth, so the settlers brought with them the language of English then, which was the starting of American English. From the time on, there became a dramatic change between Britain English and American English.As it is known to us,the Elizabeth period was the second section of the Renaissance in Britain, in which many masterpeices of Shakespeare's were written at this time. In the point of view on the development of English, English in Elizabeth Period was the early modern English. And at that time, there was a great change which happened in English.So it could be seen that American English, in the way of pronunciation,vocabulary, even grammar, inherited a lot from the traditional way, which could be contributed to the historic reason. Also, modern American English remained a lot of characters in that of the Elizabeth Period.

It's 1607 when the American English spreaded to the Americas mainland , but there were 120 colonies came to the Americas from England across the Atlantic ,and established England's colony firstly.In 1620 ,the famous group which was named as Maynick came here where are called Marsa state with a group of Puritan for the firsttime and founded the colony. when the England was under the domination of the Elizabethtown the first.Those coloniers who travelled to the colony of the North America across the seas brought the English of the Elizabeth time to the America's mainland. And this is the beginning of the American English . From then on ,the theatrical differentiation happend between the American English and the England English . As we known , the Elizabeth time belongs to the second time in the history of the England Renaissance ,And many immortal works of Shakespeare generated at the same time.Speaking from the history angle of the English development ,the English of the Elizabeth time belonged to early modern English. The English of this period changed rapidly and intensely .Obviously, modern American English had heavily conservativeness in some aspect such as the pronunciation and glossary ,even the grammar because of its historical reason. Moreover, the modern American English retained the characteristic of the Elizabeth time English in many aspects still.
