在作文里看到两句话
1)More than a quarter prefer to read stories.
2)The number of the students who enjoy reading popular science articles doubles that of those who prefer reading articles about learning methods.
prefer应该是加doing吗?为什么第一句会有prefer to?
如果认为prefer doing ,prefer to do 都存在,那两者有什么区别?

其中4 5 除
当后有 rather than do用4
当后有 to doing 用5
外，单独使用时无区别

would like to 愿意...想要...
所以二者几乎无差别，但也是有细微差别的
所以也不能说prefer to=would like to
而prefer to do rather than do
与would like to rather than do有时在做同义句互换题时可互换

prefer to do “愿意做”。I prefer to go at once.我愿意马上就走。
后接不定式时与rather than 或instead of连用，如：He preferred to die rather than (to) steal. / He perferred to die instead of stealing. 他宁死也不去偷窃。
注意介词搭配，如： I prefer swimming to skating. (I like swimming better than skating.)我喜欢游泳胜过滑冰。prefer 因其本身含有比较之意，而不可再与more 或most连用。追问

不过第一句似乎没用啊(后接不定式时与rather than 或instead of连用)
