生日有禁忌的事或物。
1、据不完全统计，对于60至80岁的人来说，庆祝生日过寿不是很好的选择，因为中国命理学上有此说法：过寿能消耗6—10年的寿命。
2、生日只能提前庆祝，不能在之后庆祝。例如，逢十过生日的人要提前一年，比如30岁过生日，通常在29岁提前过。50岁生日要49岁过。很多地方还有“过三不过四”的说法，即可以庆祝30岁生日，而不能庆祝40岁生日。
3、以下日子最好不要过生日：小年、除夕、第一个月的15号、清明节、七月十五等等。
4、最好白天过生日，尽量不要在晚上过。最好不要在生日当天出远门，没什么事就待在家里。生日当天不要说倒霉的话，更忌讳和家人发生口角之争。生日当天不要看恐怖电影，不要玩灵异游戏等等。儿童过生日，还忌打破碗、盘之类餐具。
