我来回答一下吧，虽然我是读中文的。

问题一：the answer to the question
to:（表示关联、联系）“至于，关于，对于”。这只是相对来说，没有绝对的意思。如答案不是唯一，相对来说是多样性的。
the lock to the door“门上的锁”
the key to the the bike“自行车的钥匙”
一般来说，这些都属于固定搭配的，是要花心思来记住的。

而of：（表示领属或所有关系）“……的”，它的属于某人/某物或被某人/某物占有是带有很强的色彩的。不同于to。

问题二 over the phone
“通过电话”
over:“通过……的通讯途径”
如：I heard the news over the radio.
“我通过广播听到了那则消息。”
over the phone 这个短语比较少用，用得更多地是on the phone，表示“在电话上，电话那头”
如：You are wanted on the phone.
“电话那头找你呢。”

问题三 do the problem
翻译：“处理问题”
do:做，干；处理；处置；照应；收拾；整理
如，do one's homework
do some cooking “做饭”
do the washing “洗脸；洗手”
do the room “收拾房间”

问题四 in the ship/ on the bus
in the ship是不正确的，而on the bus是正确的。
这里主要涉及到in与on的区别。

in：一般是用比较小的交通工具上，一般是不能在里面走动，要低着头才进去的。如，in a car.
on：就与in相反，它用于比较大的交通工具上，人可以在里面走动，不用低头进去的。如，on the ship;on the airplane;on the bus

其它的说法也有的：
by ship;take ship;by bus;take a bus;catch a bus;get on the bus等等。

1. 因为 answer是动词的时候， 就是用 to 介词来配。 所以 answer 当名词的时候也要用 to
