Chinese play many sports games. The traditional ones like Taiji boxing, martial arts and rowing boats have been played for hundreds of years. Chinese have also been active in many modern sports games. During the 1950’s and 1960’s, Chinese earned lots of champions in table tennis and badminton, which has made those games very popular. People have played them wherever they can find a table or a small space. After the accomplishments with those so-called “small balls”, Chinese continued to make successes in some of the big ball games. National Women Volleyball Team made hits in the 1980’s, followed by National Women Football Team in 1990s. In the recent decade, Chinese have joined all kinds of sports competition and made tons of medals, esp. in the latest Olympic Games held in Beijing, where Chinese earned more metals than any other countries. Bravo!
Right now, many sports games are getting more popular with ordinary people in China. More people are playing bowling, pools and polo as well. In fact, Chinese are playing almost any major games in the world.
