Which Holidays to Celebrate,the Chinese or Western?
So many foreign festivals crowd in our life that we are busy celebrating one when another is in the air.Valentine's Day,Easter,April Fool'sDay,Mother'sDay,Father'sDay,Halloween,Thanksgiving Day,Christmas Day,one by one,too many to count.We have to admit that these western festivals have influenced us a lot and changed our lifestyle.“Are you fooled by your friends today?”On April 1st,people often ask.And on the evening of October 31st,just the Halloween,people usually ask,“Did you meet a ghost tonight?”Believe or not,western festivals are so popular among the Chinese that we can hardly know whether they belong to the west or the east.
On the other hand,we Chinese have festivals of our own,like the Spring Festival,the Dragon-boat Festiva and the Mid-autumn Festival.They are all traditional ones and full of Chinese elements and people's charateristics.
To my mind,we can celebrate all kinds of festivals,and shouldn't care whether they are western or eastern.For,as we know,it's a trend that the western culture and eastern culture comes together.
