whatever为复合关系代词，等于anything which 或anything that,而be为完全不及物动词，此处可等于happen.

应该注意的是，英文中的“lover”并不是中文中的“爱人”，而是“情人”的意思，且多用於女人婚外的情人。男人的婚外情人是“mistress”。
