Thread Geometry
Thread features or circles can be selected as geometry. You may select both types of geometry in an operation.
Select
Select displays the Thread Geometry selection dialog. The thread parameters i.e., Major diameter, Minor Diameter, Pitch, Angle and Call Out fields are not editable. The Length field becomes editable once you select the geometry.
If the Parameters and the Call Out filter toggles are switched OFF in the Thread Milling Main dialog, only the Feature radio button of the Selection options is active. Once you select a thread feature, the processor extracts the parameters of the feature and these parameters are set as the parameter filter options in the main dialog. The subsequent selection of the thread geometry will be based on these settings.
Once you select the thread geometry, the Length field, and the Select Start button, the Circle radio button from the Selection Options and the action mode become active. The Action Mode is set to Append. The Rotation button is active only if the circle radio button of the selection options is ON.
If the Parameter filter toggle is switched ON in the Thread Milling Main dialog, Rotation, Feature and Circle radio buttons of the Selection options and the Select All button are active. All the other fields and buttons are grayed out.
If the Call Out filter toggle is switched ON in the Thread Milling Main dialog, the Feature and Circle radio buttons of the Selection options and the Select All button are active. All the other fields and buttons are grayed out. The internal and external thread definitions for the Circle option and Call Out filter option are defined by the radio buttons under the Selection Options. These radio buttons are active only when you choose the Call Out filter option and set the Circle radio button of the Selection Options ON.
Thread Geometry Selection Dialog
The thread geometry can be specified either by entering name of the feature/geometry in the selection field or interactively.
By setting the Selection Options to Features, you can select thread features. Only features that match the filter options are selected.
Upon selecting the first geometry, the Action Mode changes to Append. The next feature selected will be appended to the geometry selection list. You can also select all the thread features that match the filter options by clicking the Select All button.
If the Selection Options is set to Circle, you can select circular edges or circles as thread geometry. The selection of the circular edges is available only for single geometry selection. The geometry list can contain mixture of thread features, circular edges and circles
