省略 过去分词 被动问题

为什么用be focused on 这个被动语态 这里省略的关系词WHICH应该是主语 不是应该研究中心集中研究疾病么 怎么说成了研究中心被集中研究疾病呢？

focus on有两种理解。
1. focus为不及物动词，结构就是：A fous on B，意思就是“A专注于/致力于B”；
2. focus为及物动词时，结构为：focus A on B，意思是“把/使A专注于/致力于/集中于B”。

本句采用第二种说法，即sb focus (a research center) on (the genetics of...)，变成被动即为：a research center (be) focused on the genetics of...，即出现楼主所说的情况了。

不过，我怀疑楼主此句打错或没有打全，句子结构明显不完整啊。
