先举例:But for your help, I couldn't finish this hard work.
hurry up, otherwise you will be late.
也就是说,but for 接的是与事实相反的虚拟,要用虚拟语气。而otherwise是有可能变成事实的虚拟,后面该用什么时态就用什么。本回答被网友采纳
