1.hardly表否定，这句话的意思是说，这双鞋不好，而那双写就更别提了，结合这个理解，应该选D
B的less倒是可以和比较级搭配，但是不和语境
2.注意句子里的这个but，表示前后部分是转折关系，意思应该截然相反。昆明夏天很凉快，然而上海却不这样。应该是这么理解。应该选D 根据英语的基本语法，rarely作为副词，修饰谓语动词时，应该放在动词之前。另外，表示“几乎，很少”，scarcely侧重于程度或规模，rarely侧重于数量或次数。请体会。
3.做这类题时，可以利用还原句子顺序的作法来快速判断。将介词to后的限定the place的成分提前，应该是send it to the place.所以应该缺少的是send it to .

1.less 当然不能用来修饰better了啊 否定句中用hardly
2.后面省略了cool，表示频率用rarely 程度用hardly， scarcely（or hardly）貌似要跟when搭配吧 这个真不晓得
3.因为a少了介词to，要表达的是the place to send it to the personnel office 注意这种前面是the place，the situation etc.

2.is在这里的意思是‘是’，rarely is则表示很少有/很罕见的。不选用is rarely的原因是如果用is rarely的话，句子会吊在一半，后面必须加like this/the same.
3.to send it to要注意到后面的'to',不选A的原因很简单，因为放了A的句子意思就会是Personnel Office会帮你寄出去，而不是你要把他寄到Personnel Office。
4.那位老太太的感冒不用指望能在这几天就能好起来了。
