there在口语中可以作为代词，但是这样实际是不符合语法的。我更愿意说：What do you think of it?
在书面英语中，this，that，these，those，there，here。。。。都是不能作为代词直接独立使用的。

在上一位朋友的回答中，我个人觉得第一个例句What do you think of that?是不对的，严格的讲。而think of 是表示“考虑，看待”的所谓固定用法，所以句子倒不是错在think后不能加of there上，而是there不能做代词上。

很少有人这么说话。但在特殊情况下也可以这么说：当在谈论某一地方时，谈话双方都知道“there”是指什么（比较“here”和“there”）时，有可能说这种句子。

What do you think of that? (你觉得那个怎么样？）
What do you think of him? （你觉得他怎么样？）
What do you think of it? （你觉得它怎么样？）

这些都可以用啊，如果你想说：你觉得那里怎么样？的话是
What do you think of that place? （你觉得那个地方怎么样？）或者
What do you think of the place?
应该就可以了。
