1 语感告诉我， please remain seated 是可以接受的表达，而please remain sitting 应该改写成please keep sitting,因为 remain seated 是系表结构，keep sitting是谓宾关系-----及物动词+名词/动名词。或者是remain sedentary--------系表结构，但绝对不用在你的语境里面。
2 翻译句子：

sit用主动语态， sb. sit

seat用被动语态， sb. be seated

表达的意思都是一样的，就是某人坐

remain和be在语法结构上是完全等同的，都是系动词。

于是作表语表达某一状态时sit用现在分词， seat用过去分词

（1）你最好把你的硬币都加起来，看看能维持（生活）多久。

（2）通过（我们的）经验，文字对我们变得有意义；并且使用越久， 文字能越明确地勾起我们过去的开心事或伤心事。
