趁这个暑假，我读完了《最后一头战象》这本书,我觉得这本书很感人。
这篇故事主要讲了：一九六九年的春天，沈石溪和曾经与日寇作战的最后一头战象——嘎羧成了好朋友，一个早晨，嘎羧要回了自己的象鞍，在和寨子里的人们告别后，他独自上路迎接死亡，然而，他并没有到象冢，而是去埋了八十多头当年在抗战中死去的战象的地方，它自己挖了个坑，和战友们聚在了一起。
读完这本书，我觉得很感人，眼泪就流了下来，我原以为，象是人类的伙伴，只是普通的动物,可当我读完这本书，我明白了动物与动物之间的真挚感情，他们也有人的情感，并且比人的情感更真切、更动人、更长久。
动物们的世界真神奇，真伟大，它让我们可以从大象身上学习道理，所以，我们应该去善待那些我们的朋友，而不要为了自己的私欲去残害这些可爱而又善良的动物，让人类和它们和平共处，我希望人们能共同保护我们的朋友。
