　　农历八月一到，天气凉爽了许多，平常走过的小路旁，深绿的林荫里便会悠然飘出沁人心脾的芳香。
　　不用细想，便知道那是桂花散发出来的香味，浓而不熏，随着秋日的凉风送入鼻孔，肺腑一下子清新了许多。若不细心观察，那浓密的叶子间，你很难看见桂花的模样。那些细碎的花瓣簇拥在一起，素雅的鹅黄色被墨绿色的叶子遮挡着，似害羞的少女，半遮半掩着容颜。在茂密的林子似乎看不见她的存在，然而，那醉人的馨香告诉你，她实实在在地就在你的身边，容不得你有半点的怀疑。
　　我着实迷上这八月的桂花了，不仅仅是她远远可以嗅到的特有的香味，更因为她不张扬的恬淡与幽雅，还有她生长环境的质朴与随意。想想看，玫瑰能从容地生长在寻常的路边吗？我想应该不会，那稚嫩的妖身弱不禁风是经不起风吹雨打的，只能在园丁的精心呵护下长出娇姿欲滴的媚态招揽风情，然而，与桂花的香味比起来差劲许多。牡丹倒是挺大方的，只是我觉得，她的花朵开得近乎夸张，多了几许炫耀的成分，而且牡丹对生活环境的要求苛刻很多。我以为花的美要恰到好处的才行，如小家碧玉，欲说还羞的清纯便是极致的好。梅花，也是我喜欢的物种，只是她的冷峻与孤傲，似乎与其他物种格格不入的孤僻，不免让人敬而远之。如此种种理由，自然而然的，我对桂花情有独钟。直白地说，我爱上桂花了。
　　细品起来，花的美，应是外表的含蓄幽雅，内蕴暗香，不必娇气地择地而生，如此才能进入平常人的心里，桂花因她的质朴而笑傲在八月的时空里。
　　八月是一年中最好的季节，秋高气爽，风轻云淡，气温不冷不热，万物成熟，一派丰盈的世界。这样的季节时常会勾起我对乡间的眷念，那里到处都是秋的痕迹。最为朴素的风景都可一览无余地看见，闭上眼便可想象出秋的韵味。无需修饰，秋的美与成熟就在眼前。也无需用心寻觅，秋已入了你的心扉。这样的感觉恰好如桂花幽然飘来的香味相辅相成。
　　今年盛夏季节，我把倒塌的老屋翻新一下，也算是旧貌换了新颜，白色的墙，高高的平顶，比起以前的老屋神气了许多。新式的门窗，干净整洁的前檐后廊，摒弃了旧宅老态的模样。老屋潦倒的踪迹变成了回忆，唯有后院几棵桂花树依旧葳蕤地生长在故居的土地上，散发着淡淡的香味。
