I am writing to you to apply for leave for the seminar on Saturday afternoon about British history. In fact I am very interested in British history, but I am so sorry that I could not be there. A friend from my hometown will arrive, he isn't familiar with the place and I have to pick him up in the airport.
It is really a pity, and I would do my best to recover it. I wonder if there would be radio tapes or PPT available so that I can make it up later?
