两者均可用于表示：剩（余）下的所有东东。区别如下：
the others 只能与 one 构成一个整体，即整体拿掉1个（块等），其它的才能用 the others，如果取走的超过了1个，则余下的全部不能用 the others，但可以用 others。
the rest 则完全没有这样的限制，可以随意使用，即不管拿走的是多少，余下的所有东东都可以用它来表示。本回答被网友采纳

the rest 后面可以加 of us 之类的东西 如 the rest of us. 我们之中剩下的人
the others 后面不可以加。Some of them are going east, the others are going west.
