My Father
My father is of middle height. His eyes are sharp and full of expression. He always appears serious and looks like a judge. At first sight you may think he is hard to come near. In fact he is very kind and thoughtful① of others and their feelings. Appearance often makes people think wrongly; therefore we cannot give an opinion about a person by appearance.
My father is a man of success. By his own talents and efforts, he has achieved great achievements in what he does. He has not only created wealth for society but also provided our family with a rich life. Now he is well-known to people all over the city. People of all walks of life②come to my house and, as a result, I gain lots of hard-earned social experiences③and see more joys and sorrows of the world.
At home my father is a severe parent. He is very strict with my mother and me. He does not allow my mother to accept anything from others. When I am doing something great, such as carrying out an experiment, he is more than excited. With such a father I am always reminded of going on and on, never giving up.

【写法指要】
1）本文也是一篇介绍家人的文章。第一段写父亲的外貌和他的为人。第二段写父亲在事业上的成功和他的名望。第三段写父亲对待家人的态度，他对妻子和子女都要求很严。文章的最大特点是在每一段的最后都要写一句作者自己的感想。
2）文中有不少值得借鉴的表达方式，如：“be of middle height”，“be full of expression,”“looks like a judge”,“be thoughtful of others”,“a man of success”, “create wealth for society”,“be well-known to people”, “all walks of life”, “have high expectation of sb.”, “idle away one's time”等。

Our Art Festival

“Work while you work and play while you play, this is the way to be happy and gay. ”The .Art Festival① held in our school let us have a good time after the hard work of a long term .On Friday afternoon at the end of last term, our class, that is, Class 5 of Senior Two, had a wonderful party to celebrate this happy festival.
First we had music and dance----piano sonata②, exciting songs, brilliant waltz③ dance, then most popular disco④ music, etc, ---- all this made us extremely happy.
Then we had one competition after another. It was soon about five o'clock before we knew it. The most exciting program began: Cooking Competition . Each group of our class had to make some special dishes . At once students became cooks, though they coudn't tell the salt from gourmet powder⑤ the day before.
At seven o'clock all dishes were ready.“Ah, it tastes wonderfully delicious,”someone shouted. Then here and there applause was heard.

【写法指要】
文章开头总的介绍学校举办艺术节。接下来从第二段开始就把题材具体到作者自己的班为庆祝艺术节而举办的一次聚会上，以点代面，烘托整体。写班里的聚会时，从低潮向高潮（climax）展开，先写音乐、唱歌、舞蹈和其他活动，再写烹任比赛，使聚会达到高潮。最后，作者写出同学们一致的心愿：青年学生在紧张的学习之余，需要生动活泼的娱乐活动。全文用引语开头，又用引语结束，形成前后照应之势。

They are different from each other ,some are shy, some are beautiful, some are interesting , some are friendly, some are so cute. But i think these animals are unhappy, they should live in the forest,because the life in the zoo are different from that in the forest.
