Types of camera movement:
1. Tracking sideways
In this camera movement the camera moves ina direction that is approximately perpendicular to its visual axis. In otherwords, it moves sideways. Sideways tracking is one of the most common cameramovements, but Steven Spielberg is the best at getting the most of this type ofshot.
2. Camera moving towards an object: thetrack-in shot
In a track-in shot the camera moves towardsan object, more or less head-on. The direction of camera movement is the sameas the camera’s visualaxis. This kind of camera movement is best executed with a camera on a soliddolly, only resorting to the Steadicam when it is impossible to use a dolly.

3. Vertical camera movement: craning /booming
Vertical camera movement produces a feelingof motion for exactly the same reason as horizontal camera movement: amulti-layered 3D effect is created because objects that are closer to the cameramove across the frame faster than those that are more distant.
