2. 并列连词   并列连词用来连接具有并列关系的词、短语或句子。常见的并列连词有：

(1)表并列(联合)关系的and, both A and B, not only A but also B, neither A nor B等。

Both Lily and Lucy are voluntary workers.    Neither I nor he has seen the film.   I can sing and dance very well.

He can play both the piano and the guitar.     Not only you but also he wants to go hiking.

(2)表选择关系的or, either A or B , neither A nor B等。并列主语时，动词就近原则。

Study hard, or you’ll fail the exam.=If you don’t study hard, you’ll fail the exam.

Either you or he has to go. = Either he or you have to go.    Neither you nor he is right. = Neither he nor you are right.

(3)表转折关系的but, while, yet等。 She tried hard to catch up with the others, but she failed.

He is deaf, yet he seems to understand what we’re talking about.   It is very cold in the north, while it is hot in the south.

(4)表因果关系的for, so, then, therefore等。   It is morning, for the birds are singing.      It was late, so I went home.
