特殊疑问词分为两种：
一、特殊疑问代词，如what, which, whose, who, whom。疑问代词在句中可作主语、宾语和定语、表语。如：

Who are they?（表语）
Whom are you looking for?（宾语）
二、特殊疑问副词，如when, where, why, how, how many, how much, how old, how often，等等。when在句中作时间状语，where作地点状语，why作原因状语，how作方式状语，等等。如：

Where are you going?
