Spring Festival is the most important and popular festival in China. Leading up to the festival, people通常会 clean and decorate their homes. They also go to Flower Fairs to buy plants to add to the festive atmosphere. During Spring Festival, adults usually give red envelopes, or "lucky money," to children. Families often get together and have a big feast, where they eat dumplings and other traditional foods.
Spring Festival is the start of the year and is celebrated with great enthusiasm. On New Year's Eve, families gather to have a reunion dinner. The meal is typically rich and includes fish, symbolizing abundance, and other symbolic dishes. Firecrackers are set off to scare away evil spirits and welcome the New Year. Children, in particular, look forward to the festival as they receive gifts and the best gift of all is the Spring Festival. People also wear new clothes to represent a fresh start. Greetings of "Happy New Year" are exchanged among friends and family throughout the festival.
Last winter holiday, I visited Harbin with my mother. It's very cold there in winter, with snow and ice everywhere, creating a white wonderland. One must dress warmly. The most exciting part is playing in the snow. Skating is also enjoyable. I will always remember Harbin for its beautiful snow, ice, and all the wonderful experiences.
The Spring Festival is a traditional Chinese festival that marks the beginning of the spring season. Companies and organizations arrange leave so that people can go home for the festival. On the eve of the Spring Festival, households are cleaned, special purchases are made, and new clothes are bought. Setting off fireworks and wearing new clothes are traditions. Delicious foods are consumed, and visiting relatives is a custom. Dumplings are a traditional food for the festival, and people gather to share in the joy.
Our family is no exception. I helped hang Spring Festival couplets, with the sticky paste neatly applied to the door. My father and I wrote the "fu" character (福) on the door. My sister was busy around the house, hanging red lanterns and sticking strings of lights on the walls. The lights twinkled like little stars, brightening the place up. We also enjoyed a family dinner, and after dinner, I went out with my siblings to play with fireworks. My brother lit the fuse, and we watched as a firework dragon soared into the sky, creating a beautiful "chrysanthemum" display. The colors were vibrant and varied—red, yellow, green, blue, and purple. The fireworks danced in the sky like a measured dance, their golden light scattering and splitting apart. It was a stunning sight.
Before the Spring Festival, people rush to complete their preparations. In the cleaning spree, spider webs are swept away, windows are cleaned, and unused items are sorted out. Necessary items such as sugar, melon seeds, and chocolate are bought. New Year's Eve is particularly busy. Adults rise early to buy all sorts of food for the festivities. The first day of the New Year is the happiest for children. Adults give us red envelopes with their best wishes, blessing us with learning progress and daily happiness. We get to wear beautiful new clothes, play, and enjoy the holiday, making it a joyful and happy Spring Festival.
During the New Year, my friends change into new clothes, discarding their old ones. As people look forward to each new day, the New Year finally arrives, and preparations begin in earnest. Fireworks stalls pop up, selling their wares. Confectionery and New Year's couplets are also in high demand. We head to the streets to make our purchases, immersing ourselves in the bustling atmosphere. At night, the sound of fireworks fills the air as families celebrate; sometimes, mischievous kids throw firecrackers onto the ground, causing them to explode with a satisfying pop. Houses are lit up, and some people watch TV, while others enjoy a family reunion dinner. I joke and tell stories with my parents, watching TV and being reminded of a poem: "Firecrackers on New Year's Eve, the spring breeze brings gifts into the home." It's always fun to find hidden treasures and welcome the new peach blossoms of the old.
This year, I happily returned to my hometown for the Spring Festival with my father. As soon as I arrived, I noticed a new spring couplet on the door, and I was delighted to find my brother. I had a toy gun, round and green, with a thin layer of plastic and a vibrant green color. I carefully placed the gun on the steps, and my younger brother helped me load the flash sticks. I carefully put a stick into the gun, and with a loud "bang," a powerful explosion!
We watched the Spring Festival Gala together after the New Year's Eve dinner. The variety show had sketches, cross talk, singing, and dancing, all of which were fantastic!
This year, we had a wonderful reunion. I wish everyone a happy and prosperous New Year!详情
