She volunteers to work———— the local hospital。
中间要填一个介词，答案是at，不是经常用in the hospital ，in hospital的嘛，难道有at这个短语吗，那何时用at，何时用in啊，又有啥区别啊
请高手解释啊

in hospital 生病住院
in the hospital 在医院里,不论你做什么，泛指，如
She works in the hospital.
意思就是：她在医院工作。大多数情况下也可以翻译为：她的职业是医生。（当然护士或其他工作也有可能）
in a hospital 感觉和in the hospital基本一样

其实这几个东西可以这样区分的：
in hospital是个短语，意思就是生病住院，它本身就可以表示完整的意思，如She is in hospital.意思就是她住院了。
后面那两个就是很常见的在名词前面加介词表示在什么地点啊，比如in the school, in the shop等等的，没有什么特别的。具体意思要看你用什么动词的，比如：
She works in the hospital.
She lives in the hospital.
She eats in the hospital.
都可以的啊，具体表达什么意思要看你用什么动词的
名词前面加the和a都可以表示泛指
所以She works in a hospital.也是可以用的，表达的意思和the是一样的。
